Why We Exist

In 1947, Everett Kircher made a bold investment—just $1 for a parcel of land in northern Michigan that would become Boyne Mountain Resort. What began as a vision to bring skiing to the Midwest turned into a 75+-year legacy of innovation, stewardship, and community. The Boyne Forever Foundation was created to carry that spirit forward.

Inspired by that single dollar and the belief that big change can start small, we invest in what matters most; protecting the natural beauty that draws people to the outdoors, strengthening the communities that make them thrive, supporting the team members who make it all possible. We believe that outdoor recreation, conservation, and community development can—and should—go hand in hand.
